Client Information Booklet
Home Care Medical has an emergency management plan designed to provide continuing care and appropriate support to our clients in the event an emergency situation results in the interruption of client services.
- Emergencies include:
- Power outages
- Staff illness
If Home Care Medical’s telephone service is out, we will transfer our calls to another working number. You should be able to reach us by dialing 262.786.9870 and your call will automatically transfer to that alternate location. If telephone service outages are widespread and a transfer of calls is not possible, you should call 911 if you need emergency medical assistance.
When hazardous weather or disasters take place, listen to, and take the advice of, emergency broadcasting services on radio and television.
For specific information about Home Care Medical’s ability to provide services, please listen to WTMJ AM 620 (radio), FM 94.5 (radio) or WTMJ Channel 4 (television).
Home Care Medical has identified clients receiving certain therapies and services (ventilator, apnea monitor, high liter flow oxygen, for example) as those whose lives would be threatened by the disruption of service. Providing services to these individuals will be our first priority in the event of an emergency.
If you have special electrical needs associated with the operation of your medical equipment, you need to have back-up power sources (batteries, generators, etc.) in the event of a power outage.
If you are forced to evacuate your home or to relocate, please contact Home Care Medical as soon as possible. If you have to leave your home, and you have the time to safely gather important papers, be sure to include insurance cards, a copy of your eyeglass prescription, a list of your medications and their dosages and phone numbers of local and non-local family and friends.
